| What is the best way to raise frogs ??
I have a bad tub that my dobermann uses to cool off in. Every now and then, after a heavy rain, a mummie frog leaves her eggs in it. I take them out put them in a safe place to grow. I feed them lettuce. Is this the best thing to do ?? I have no idea what sort of frog they are but the eggs are black with a little white spot on them. We have rocket frogs, green tree frogs and some others (unidentified) living on our block. [2 Replies] |

I have found that the size of the tapoles is varies with some being really big and others being really small. I am wondering if frogs keep laying eggs in the same place? I have only seen Green frogs with whitish bellies around my home. I am in Darwin. I want to encourage them to come back. [1 Reply] |

| What do I feed the baby frogs once it has morphed from a tadpole? I am feeding the tadpoles boiled lettuce leaves and fish flakes, but notice that our newly formed frog doesn't go back into the water to feed. What do I need to do? Will it survive on its own, or should I be (gulp) catching cockroaches and the like ??
Thanks,

| My husband and I live in Humpty Doo on 5 acres of mostly rainforest. We are concerned about the cane toad invading our space. We are currently installing a 70cm high barrier of corrigated iron around our house yard, apporimately 35x60 meters. Will this keep the buggers out? or is there any thing else that we can do? | We have a large fish pond and obviously need to do something fast. We have black weed mat on our fences for dog control. How effective will this be against cane toads? And how important is it to have a barrier which is sunk into the ground - I've read it needs to may need to be about 10 cm deep. Would a combination of the mat and a sunken barrier be effective?
